Reduced Heat Absorption and Protection of Railway Technology
Due to its purely physical mode of action, ThermoShield® DB-Spezial reduces the heat absorption of the building envelope and significantly limits the heating of interior spaces. The products ThermoShield® DB-Spezial Wand/Wall and ThermoShield® DB-Spezial Dach/Roof support the long-term protection of temperature-sensitive railway crossing, signalling and safety technology.
At the same time, the durable and weather-resistant coating solutions provide long-lasting protection for façade and roof surfaces and contribute to preserving the value of technical infrastructure.
Verification of Thermal Performance (Pilot Project 2021)
As part of the pilot project at the Langsdorf IV test facility, the thermal performance of the ThermoShield® DB-Spezial coating was evaluated under real summer conditions. The measurement results demonstrated a significant reduction in indoor temperatures in concrete switchgear houses. Compared with uncoated surfaces, temperature reductions of up to 11 °C were achieved. In addition, the coating reduced temperature fluctuations by 22.6 °C, resulting in significantly more uniform and stable thermal conditions inside the buildings.
