Mold stains on the walls not only look unsightly, they are also a health hazard. Even small quantities of mold spores can trigger allergic reactions, while larger quantities can even damage the body.
Molds need nutrients and moisture to grow. As nutrients are more or less readily available in buildings, moisture is of crucial importance. Temperature and pH value tend to play a subordinate role, as mold fungi can grow in a wide temperature and pH range. If black mold stains or white mold fluff are already visible, action must be taken.
