Well insulated with ease
Due to its special grain size, IsoTex R70 is a comparatively soft plaster. With a consumption of just 4.0 to 4.5 kg/m², it is very light and requires no additional anchoring aids. The thermal insulation plaster is easy to apply both mechanically and manually and can be applied effortlessly with a trowel or sprayer. It is suitable for plastering brick, concrete, reinforced concrete, aerated concrete, wood and metal substrates indoors and outdoors.
IsoTex R70 can be coated with the fine, mineral smooth plaster IsoTex F50 for leveling and surface finishing. This creates a smooth, homogeneous surface as an ideal base for subsequent coatings.
ClimateCoating® IsoTex system – The energy-saving trio for the façade
The problem: exterior walls – with or without paint – absorb water when it rains. The longer the precipitation lasts, the more water is absorbed. This water has to evaporate from the wall again. This creates evaporative cooling, which draws considerable amounts of energy from the building. This must be compensated for by heating or air conditioning.
The solution: a thermal insulation system with reflective membrane technology
After application, the lightweight IsoTex R70 thermal insulation render is levelled with the fine IsoTex F50 smooth render and then coated with two coats of the functional paint ThermoProtect from ClimateCoating® for exterior use. The paint acts like a membrane: it only absorbs small amounts of water when it rains, without it penetrating the plaster substrate. As soon as the membrane is saturated, no more water is absorbed, even if it continues to rain. After the rain, the water evaporates from the paint layer, while the residual moisture is removed from the render by the capillary action of the functional paint and quickly released. This keeps the amount of evaporation to a minimum and the façade coating meets the requirements of EN 998-1 as “water-repellent”.

ThermoProtect is also very resistant to environmental influences such as UV radiation or acid in rainwater. The antistatic effect significantly reduces dust adhesion. Coated façades have been documented on which the membrane-like coating is still intact and free of cracks even after more than 20 years, so that the energy-saving effect is guaranteed. See the Perleberg project example – facade coating with ThermoProtect and the associated press release.
Advantages of the IsoTex system
The combination of the IsoTex R70 thermal insulation render, the optional IsoTex F50 levelling layer and the ThermoProtect functional paint forms a durable and high-performance façade system. It offers reliable protection against all weather influences and at the same time contributes to a significant reduction in heating and air conditioning costs. The effective moisture and heat management also sustainably improves the indoor climate and helps to maintain the value of the building fabric in the long term.
PS: Reducing the moisture in the masonry by just 1% can reduce heating costs by up to 10%.
