Reflective membrane technology – the key to heat protection
The innovative formula and high-quality raw materials ensure that a flexible and reflective membrane with outstanding properties is formed after the functional paint is applied:
- very high sunlight reflection
- long-term material durability
- above-average elasticity and robustness
- watertightness/ impermeability to driving rain
- temperature resistance from -40°C to +150°C
High reflection values – almost like snow
ThermoActive roof paint is able to reflect over 91% of sunlight – a proven peak value. For comparison: pure snow achieves a reflection of around 100%.
Due to this high reflectivity, a large proportion of the solar radiation is reflected back at the surface. The roof heats up significantly less and heat transfer to the inside of the building is greatly reduced. ThermoActive thus offers effective thermal insulation in summer: the roof surface remains cool even in intense sunlight, the interior temperatures fall and the energy requirement for air conditioning is sustainably reduced.

Cost reduction through passive air conditioning
The reflective ThermoActive paint uses an additional evaporative cooling effect: it absorbs moisture that evaporates through solar radiation and thus provides additional cooling for the roof. The functional color does not necessarily have to be white, as high cooling performance can also be achieved with darker colors.
The roof thus becomes a passive air conditioning system that reduces energy consumption for cooling, contributes to CO₂ reduction and helps to ensure the long-term energy efficiency of the building (see Schindler project).

Extended service life of the roof structure
The outstanding elasticity of ThermoActive makes it possible to easily bridge material transitions at temperatures from -40°C to +150°C. The roof remains watertight. The roof remains watertight. The roof paint is extremely robust and resistant to environmental influences such as acids, alkalis, ozone, nitrogen and sulphur oxides. The coating is also extremely UV-resistant. No embrittlement, no flaking of paint, no weathering and all this in the long term. All of this extends the service life of the roof structure and reduces maintenance costs.
Cool roofs efficiently, save energy & electricity – with ThermoActive, the reflective functional paint for outdoor use.
