History

Value-preserving facade protection with gentle dehumidification

Gentle capillary drying and balancing moisture management characterize the facade coating History for listed building facades. In addition, History efficiently prevents the renewed entry of moisture – in a completely natural, physical way.

All ClimateCoating® coatings and inks are based on reflective membrane technology and have a purely physical effect. The environmentally friendly and high-performance coatings have been impressing users worldwide since 2003 with their special properties and high cost-effectiveness.

Almost every mineral substrate in old buildings is contaminated with water and salt. This explains the requirement of monument protection for an optimal capillary and diffusion-open coating, which should absolutely prevent salt and moisture accumulation and also withstand all modern environmental stresses.

Gentler capillary drying
The most effective dehumidification mechanism is capillary drying, in which water and salt are transported from the inside to the outside of the wall surface. History enables a more gentle dehumidification down to the building equilibrium moisture level and, as a hygric diode, prevents new moisture ingress, for example through rain. Algae, moss and fungi no longer find a breeding ground and the facades retain their valuable appearance for many years – thanks to the physical properties and high-quality formulation of History.
